London embraces the tennis season with fantastic, free outdoor big screens and fan hubs across the city.
Because the famous Wimbledon tournament overlaps with the Men’s Football World Cup, these spaces offer a completely different, quintessentially British alfresco vibe, usually complete with deckchairs, Pimm’s pop-ups, and strawberries and cream.
Most of the below spaces offer free access but you will have to get there early to secure a spot.

1. Covent Garden Piazza – Central London

One of the most popular and accessible spots in the West End, the historic piazza transforms into a massive open-air screening venue.
- The Vibe: Energetic and bustling. You can grab one of the free, first-come, first-served deckchairs right in front of the giant screen.
- Food & Drink: Surrounded by Covent Garden’s top restaurants, plus plenty of courtyard pop-ups serving classic British Pimm’s, champagne, and strawberries, you won’t be left hungry or thirsty here.
2. Everyman on the Canal – Granary Square, King’s Cross

A highly aesthetic viewing spot where the big screen is situated right on the water.
- The Vibe: Relaxed and scenic. Fans sit on the giant, grass-covered steps leading down to the Regent’s Canal, which are scattered with oversized pillows.
- Food & Drink: Curated by Everyman Cinema, you can expect a menu of street-style cinema snacks, popcorn, and frozen margaritas. (Note: Once the daily tennis finishes, the screen switches over to a free outdoor movie cinema).
3. Summer Screens at Canary Wharf

Located in Canada Square Park, this is the go-to spot for city workers and East London locals looking to catch afternoon matches.
- The Vibe: Clean, modern, and vibrant. The park turns into a massive lawn where you can lay out your picnic blankets or sit on the grass.
- Food & Drink: Highly flexible—you can pack your own picnic from the nearby Waitrose food hall or grab a drink from the surrounding terrace bars that overlook the screens. And there’s always Uber Eats, Deliveroo etc.
4. Summer by the River – London Bridge City

Stretched along the south bank of the Thames between London Bridge and Tower Bridge, this month-long festival features a dedicated sports screen.
- The Vibe: Picturesque riverfront viewing with stunning views of Tower Bridge in the background.
- Food & Drink: Features dedicated riverside pop-up bars serving craft beers, summer cocktails, and a mandatory strawberries & cream stall. Nearby pubs and restaurants are at your avail too.
5. Eccleston Yards – Belgravia / Victoria
A chic, hidden courtyard just a short walk from Victoria Station putting on a premium screening experience.
- The Vibe: Low-key luxury. The courtyard is filled with pastel-coloured beanbags, deckchairs, and picnic tables.
- Food & Drink: Brilliant options from the surrounding independent cafes and wellness eateries, alongside a dedicated rosé wine pop-up bar. They even serve frozen chocolate-covered strawberries during the matches.
6. St Katharine Docks – Tower of London
For a unique aquatic twist, a floating big screen is set up right in the middle of London’s historic marina.
- The Vibe: Maritime and relaxed. You can watch the Centre Court action while sitting on a pontoon surrounded by yachts.
- Food & Drink: A dedicated floating bar serves up standard matchday treats, Pimm’s, wine, and beers. There’s plenty more pubs, restaurants and bars around.
7. The Garden at Cardinal Place – Victoria

A great roof-garden retreat hidden away from the busy streets of Victoria.
- The Vibe: Communal and lively. They offer completely free walk-in viewing with no reservations required.
- Entertainment Bonus: For added entertainment, they often host pre-match activities, live acoustic music, and karaoke pop-ups to keep the energy high between sets.
8. Strawberries & Screen – Duke of York Square in Chelsea

Note: This one is specifically for the end of the tournament.
- The Vibe: Exclusive and family-friendly, taking over the running track in Chelsea. It only pops up for the Men’s Semi-Finals and both the Men’s and Women’s Finals.
- Entertainment Bonus: Alongside the massive screen and pop-up bars, they host children’s tennis coaching sessions on the grass during the finals weekend, making it the best option for families.
Quick tip for your planning: Almost all of these outdoor tennis screenings are completely free and non-ticketed. Because seating (deckchairs/beanbags) is first-come, first-served, the best strategy is to arrive 30–45 minutes before a big match starts to secure a spot!
