Online wholesale platform,Ā Fleek has appointed Matthew Parker as its founding Head of Talent as the company accelerates hiring to support its AI-first operating model.Ā Ā Ā
TheĀ hiring comes as the brand pushes forĀ London-focusedĀ hiresĀ asĀ Fleek continues to build technology aimed at modernising the globalĀ second-handĀ fashion supply chain, aĀ system the company saysĀ remainsĀ largely manualĀ and inefficient despite growing demand for resale.Ā Ā
Alberto Lo Bue, VP of Growth at FleekĀ said:Ā
āThe fashion industry produces overĀ 100Ā billion garments a year, and aroundĀ 60%Ā end up in landfill, not because peopleĀ donātĀ want these clothes, but because the infrastructure that movesĀ second-handĀ fashion from donation to resale is still largely offline.Ā Fleek is fixing this.āĀ Ā
Fleek says Parker willĀ be responsible forĀ building the companyās people function from the ground up, with a focus on attracting what it describes as āAI-first operatorsāĀ individuals able to combine commercial thinking, technical fluency, and strong execution.Ā
CEO and co-founder Abhi AroraĀ saysĀ the company is increasingly focused on hiring what it calls āSuper ICsā,Ā high-impact individual contributors empowered by AI tools toĀ operateĀ with the scope traditionally associated with entire teams.Ā Ā Ā
Arora said:Ā
āWe’re seeing individuals own problems that previously would haveĀ requiredĀ a full pod across commercial, data and engineering.Ā Empowered with AI, these operators can have outsized impact.āĀ Ā
He added that judgmentĀ remainsĀ the key differentiator in an AI-enabled workplace.Ā Ā Ā
āThe real skill is recognising when AI output is good enough versus whenĀ itāsĀ confidently wrong. That analytical rigour is what separates exceptional operators.āĀ Ā
Parker says Fleekās hiring philosophy reflects how quickly roles are evolving as AI capabilities expand.Ā
Parker commented:Ā Ā
āPeople who have used the most advanced tools already think differently about their careers.Ā TheyāreĀ already asking themselves what their role will look like in two years.āĀ Ā
As part of this approach, Fleek is also experimenting with ways to make AI hiring more inclusive. Parker noted that candidates are given access to leading AI tools during the interview process to ensure the company is assessing potential rather than prior exposure.Ā
He further said:Ā Ā
āWeāreĀ giving candidates access to tools like Claude Code during the interviewĀ process,Ā so weĀ donātĀ exclude people who simplyĀ havenātĀ had the opportunity to use them yet.Ā We want to find the right people, not just the most privileged.āĀ Ā
The company says its internal operating model is also evolving alongside its hiring philosophy, with business teams increasingly building their own internal tools using AI.Ā
Co-founder Sanket Agarwal said:Ā Ā
āIn an AI-native world, internal operations become a collection of agents and tools with humans in the loop.Ā Our teams are already building internal tools connected to our data in minutes rather than waiting on engineering.āĀ Ā
Lo Bue added that while some analytical work is becoming automated, the strategic side of data roles is becoming more valuable.Ā
He said:Ā Ā
āAI is splitting the analyst role in two.Ā Execution is being automated, while problem framing, interpretation and decision support are becoming even more important.āĀ Ā
Fleek is currently hiring across engineering, product, commercial and operational roles as it continues to scale its London presence.Ā
